Broken Canon IXY 1000

Finally got around to taking a pic of my IXY 1000, which was broken on a recent flight. The innards of the lens are damaged, will no longer close, and there’s a nice ding on the rim. It still turns on, but straight away registers a lens error before crashing. Sucks. Replaced it with the IXUS 960 IS, which is the newer evolution of it. 12.1 mega pixels and image stabiliser. While it looks almost identical at first glace, its actually a whole new shape, and has chrome finishing on the end-plates instead of tacky black.

Nokia 8800 Arte + Nokia N95

Speaking of broken gadgets, today the buttons on my mobile started playing up. It’s over two years old now, and the Nokia 8800 Siocco has served me well. Although I use an N95 for trips to Asia, I’m not particularly fond of it so I’m now in the market for a new phone. After nearly a decade of buying Nokia’s 8-series phones, I decided not to upgrade to the 8800 Arte, sheerly because the rising rrp finally made the lack of features unjustifiable. Although I do think the Apple iPhone is a cool thing, I’m one of those peeps who frantically SMS without looking, and so I simply couldn’t do that with a touchscreen. Perhaps the new Blackberry Bold then…

Logitech G7 mouse

Unbelievably, my mouse has started playing up too. Talk about bad luck. The buttons have gone completely beserk, and you can no longer single click. Dragging and dropping is impossible plus Photoshop is now frustrating to use. Why do electronic gadgets have to have such short lifespans?

[…] the LX3 out of my bag to see a cracked screen. I must say my heart sank, as this wasn’t the first time I’ve broken a camera. Luckily the GGS screen protector did its job, with the screen beneath completely unscathed. […]
